Joshua Christian Childress is a Los Angeles–based saxophonist, composer, and bandleader whose music blends the rich tradition of jazz with a modern, forward-looking voice. Known for his expressive sound, compelling original compositions, and dynamic live performances, he brings together elements of contemporary jazz, soul, and improvisation to create memorable musical experiences.

As both a performer and collaborator, Joshua has shared the stage with acclaimed artists including John Legend, Aloe Blacc, Lalah Hathaway, Kelly Rowland, Christian Sands, Keyon Harrold, Kenny Burrell, Kirk Franklin, Imagine Dragons, and many others. Whether leading his own ensemble or performing with world-class musicians, he is recognized for his artistry, versatility, and engaging stage presence.

Joshua is equally passionate about education, serving on the faculty at Concordia University and teaching throughout Southern California while continuing to perform and compose new works. His mission is to honor the legacy of jazz while helping shape its future through music that is both innovative and deeply rooted in the tradition.
